We worked on a project to create a Shopify store for selling furniture and its components. The client had the following requirements for the product in the store:
- photos should change depending on the selected set of options;
- related options should be displayed depending on the selected option. For example, when choosing color 1, size 1, material 1, selecting color 1 should not retain the previous data size 1, material 1;
- each option value should have an image representing the option (for example, a pattern)
For testing in the Shopify Store, we chose the Infinite Options app.
After testing, we concluded that the app is not suitable for our project for the following reasons:
- no possibility for individual pricing or setting prices based on user selection/input;
- cannot change the product image depending on the selected set of options (for example, a sofa with wooden armrests and metal legs);
- impossible to link multiple products to one set of options; instead, it must be duplicated for other products.
Finally, we decided to explore the features built into the app.
Infinite Options allows creating an unlimited number of parameters (options) for a product instead of the three standard options provided by Shopify. Option values can be presented as dropdown menus, numbers, checkboxes, and other variants. Fields can be set as optional or required.

Allow customers to use personalized products for engraving, monograms, custom printing, etc.
Configuring an item with Infinite Options
1. On the main panel, select “Option Sets” > “Create Option Set”
2. Then specify the rules for linking Infinite Options to Shopify products.
3. Define the product parameter names and make the necessary settings.
4. Click Save changes
