On the product page or in the cart the customer sees a «PrivatBank instalments — from ₴X/month» block. At checkout they choose the programme, the number of payments and confirm the order. Shopify creates the order and the TradeMinister integration sends a payment request to LiqPay using the paysplit or payparts action.

PrivatBank approves the instalment plan

The customer lands on the PrivatBank/LiqPay page, verifies their identity (BankID or confirmation in Privat24), and the bank checks the limit and approves the loan within minutes. «Instant Instalment» also involves signing a loan agreement online with a qualified electronic signature. LiqPay sends a callback to the store’s server and Shopify switches the order status to Paid.

Once the loan is approved, PrivatBank credits the order amount to the merchant account less the fee (2.3% to 27.3% depending on the number of payments under «Oplata Chastynamy»). Settlement happens on the day of sale, online, within two hours. The customer then repays the bank monthly — the merchant is no longer part of that chain.

what do you need to get started? +

1) A sole proprietor (FOP) or company (TOV) account with PrivatBank. 2) An active LiqPay account (free, sign up at liqpay.ua). 3) Registration in the «Internet Oplata Chastynamy» dashboard (free — Privat24 for Business → «Services — Oplata Chastynamy»). 4) A live Shopify store on any plan. All three PrivatBank/LiqPay services are free to activate — you only pay for the Shopify integration itself.

what does the merchant pay? +

The fee depends on the number of payments under «Oplata Chastynamy»: 2 — 2.3%, 3 — 2.5%, 4 — 3.6%, 6 — 6.5%, 12 — 13.7%, 18 — 20.1%, 24 — 26.3%, 25 — 27.3%. The full table is in the calculator above. Under «Instant Instalment» the fee is roughly one percentage point lower, because the customer covers part of the cost through the 1.9% markup. To avoid the higher tiers, you can cap the maximum number of payments in your dashboard (for example, at 5 or 12).

how does it appear on the product page? +

A line reading «PrivatBank instalments — from ₴X/month» appears under the price, along with the number of payments. The customer sees the monthly amount for the maximum number of payments the store allows. At checkout, the LiqPay/PrivatBank widget opens with a choice of programme and number of payments. The widget on the product page is styled to match your theme.

when does the merchant receive the money? +

On the day of sale, online — within two hours of the bank approving the loan. PrivatBank transfers the order amount to the merchant account less the fee. There is no need to wait for the customer’s monthly payments: the full order amount minus the fee arrives at once, exactly as with regular card acquiring, except the rate depends on the number of payments.

what if the customer stops paying the bank? +

The default risk sits with PrivatBank, not the merchant, who has already received the full order amount. If the customer stops paying, that is between them and PrivatBank (penalties, interest, credit history) and does not concern the merchant. The merchant only returns money to the bank when the customer returns the goods (see the refund question).

is a down payment supported? +

Yes. The customer can pay part of the amount by card through LiqPay (any bank) and put the rest on «Oplata Chastynamy» or «Instant Instalment». This helps when their Universal card limit is not enough. The down payment is enabled in the «Internet Oplata Chastynamy» dashboard under «Down payment» by entering the LiqPay public keys. We switch it on during setup on request.

how long does setup take? +

1–3 business days after payment, provided the store already has a LiqPay account and a registered «Internet Oplata Chastynamy» dashboard. This covers installing the «from ₴X/month» widget on the product page and in the cart, integrating with LiqPay (paysplit/payparts actions), linking the public keys, configuring the callback handler and automatic status updates, testing with a real order and handing over a guide for your staff. If the PrivatBank dashboard does not exist yet, add one more day for registration.
