What the Payment Apps API is, and how it differs from the thank-you page
The Payment Apps API is the mechanism Shopify officially provides for third-party providers to become payment methods. The provider appears in the list of payment options next to cash on delivery, instead of being drawn in by a script after the order is placed.

What the customer experiences
- The customer fills in contact and delivery details in the standard Shopify Checkout.
- At the payment step they choose “plata by mono” and confirm: Visa/Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay or MonoPay in the monobank app.
- After a successful payment Shopify creates the order already marked Paid. No unpaid orders, no manual reconciliation.
What makes up the total cost
The total has three parts: monobank’s acquiring rate, Shopify’s fee for using a third-party payment provider (which depends on your plan — higher on Basic, lower on Advanced) and the payment app developer’s fee.
